Case study
RES Devon passed its annual MCS audit with zero non-conformities and cut estimate time from 2-3 hours to 10 minutes. The team now runs a single workflow across heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage, biomass and MVHR from initial contact through to handover.
Alter Eco tripled installs from 15-20 to 50-60 heat pumps a year within 12 months. With Spruce, heat loss surveys take 30-45 minutes instead of half a day, and proposals now match the quality of the installs their referral business depends on.
After 15 years running a bespoke in-house Excel system, WDS moved to Spruce and grew survey volume by 75%. Estimates that used to take an hour now take 10 minutes, and new starters become productive in two weeks rather than months.
Active Heating tripled installs from one to three heat pumps a week and cut survey-to-proposal time from a day to a couple of hours. With Spruce, the team handles more enquiries, runs estimates from the website, and gets proposals out the same day.
Guscott Heating shifted from 95% gas boilers in 2020 to 60% heat pumps today, while the team grew from two to 15. With Spruce, faster heat losses removed the admin cap that was holding the heat pump side back.
Swift Renewables scaled from 10 to 100 heat pump installs a year and grew from four engineers to 30, all without growing the office at the same rate. Spruce now handles the admin work that used to need a full-time role, and proposals come together in 20 minutes.
